What we’re doing:
Inaugural Girls in Flight Day
The inaugural Girls in Flight event, hosted by LNAA, was a huge hit! Girls were able to learn about various pilot & aviation careers by rotating through various stations. These included the Keystone 99’s with (3) stations covering how an airplane flies, the Compass Rose & airport diagram, and the Phonetic alphabet with assembling and flying balsa gliders to apply all these principles. Other stations included United Flight Attendants, Flight line Technicians, flight students, and Eastern PA 99 /American Airlines pilot Alicia S gave each girl an opportunity to hop into an airplane and explain the flight controls. Keystone 99 /American Airlines pilot Rosanne SJ gave insight into being a professional pilot. Snacks and lunch were provided by LNAA.
Another event is being planned for spring.
