Welcome to the Keystone 99’s Webpage!

Who we are:

We are a volunteer, non-profit group of women aviators or aviatrixes, young and old. Students, Engineers, Mothers, Military Personnel, Professional Pilots, Businesswomen, Teachers, Health Care Workers, and more, who share a love of aviation.

This is the official webpage for the Keystone Chapter, Mid-Atlantic Section of the Ninety-Nines International group.

Where we are:

Northeast Pennsylvania – from the Lehigh Valley (including Quakertown and Reading) to the New York State border

Our mission:

  • To provide support, encouragement and networking opportunities to women pilots
  • To educate youth about aviation and thus promote interest in science, math and aviation careers
  • To provide access to scholarships to help women pilots further their flying passion or career
  • To promote general aviation in the community

What we’re doing:

May 3– Heritage Field 3rd Annual Fly-In, Drive-In — Eight Keystones and two Friends attended and helped– We had a great turnout of Keystones and locals wanting to learn about flying. We are grateful for Heritage for putting on this event and inviting us back. We had great fun talking about our passion of flying, mentoring and crafting with the little ones.

May 15 — KABE– Lehigh Valley international Airport – Bethlehem Area S.D. Students toured KABE. These students interest in aviation included pilots, ATC, ARFF, Marketing/Public Relations. Keystone 99 member Rosanne explained the process of becoming a pilot and what it takes to get a commercial airplane ready for departure.

May 16 — Coca-Cola Park — Iron Pigs Fundraiser — Cosmic Baseball Tour — The 99’s worked concessions for this event to raise funds for the Chapter.  A unique event, uniforms and spectators uniforms/clothing “glowed in the dark” for a fun game.

May 17 — Braden’s Airpark — Young Eagles — EAA70 hosted the Young Eagle rides after the fog/scud cleared. It was a beautiful day to have 4 planes flying 19 kids for their 1st YE event of the season . Rosanne handled the new online registration process as well as interacted with parents about the various flying paths to get a license (1 mom who wants to start lessons herself!!). She talked to the right person.

Spring Section Meeting!

April 26 — The Spring Mid-Atlantic Section Meeting was held  at Delaware State University in Dover, DE, hosted by The Delaware Chapter. Keystone members Diana, Rosanne, Amy and Eva attended. Eva is the Means & Ways Director of the Mid-Atlantic Section. She offered merchandise for sale, as well as organized a raffle to generate income for Mid-Atlantic expenditures.

Inspired By Others

March 13 — One of our new members, Chloe participated in the Freedom High School (Bethlehem) Career Fair. Hopefully she inspired some future aviators!
